Marine Rescue

As we celebrate Memorial Day, let us remember the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice. We have a special place in our hearts for Marines, as our son is one. When we saw this old Marine languishing in the corner of a booth at Antique Company Mall, we just had to rescue him.


This water colored photo dated 1952 is of a proud young Marine just out of boot camp.
The inscription read "Always, Love Dad 1952". Did he serve in Korea? Viet Nam? Did he serve just a few years or make it a career?


We don't know his story, but one thing is sure. If he's still alive, he's in his 80's and he's still a proud Marine. Once a Marine always a Marine. As they say, Semper Fi!

    I've tried several times to leave you a comment, but blogger wasn't working. I'm so glad you took this treasure home with you from my booth. When I first found it I thought how sweet of a photo it was and how could someone have given it up. It has a good home now.
