Half Way Mark

In McKinney, we are just about half way through our summer vacation.  We've been busy filling our days.  Booth 58 has seen lots of visitors shopping Downtown McKinney over the past several weeks.

We already sold our windmill blades.... but we have another set on it's way to Booth 58 soon.

We'll be cranking out the fall and holiday banners real soon... It's never too soon for a new B58 holiday banner.  Lots of our customers stock up when they are in ACM... just this weekend we sold a Happy Valentine's Day and Merry Christmas... in July!

Winter Blues

 Mom rearranged the barnwood shelves in the booth last week... She added more color and highlighted some of our blue pieces. 

It's nice to have some bright pops of color ... and especially the blue willow plates. 

We both use a lot of blue in our houses... a classic cozy color.

 

It's a Banner Day!

Not only is today the LAST DAY of SCHOOL here in McKinney, but....

 We also just restocked our B58 BANNERS! 

We've added some new sayings - just in time for Dad's Day and July 4th celebrations....

New Look

We made lots of moves within our space this week....

Moved some rusty and crusty to the front spot...

Moved some silver and elegant to the back spot....

Here Come the Brides...

Wedding season is around the corner.  The Brides are out strong. We saw several Mother-of-the-Brides scooping up good stuff for reception décor....

We decided to honor all the spring and summer brides with our window display this month.

With a bit of a "twist",  our fictional B58 couple is getting hitched on the beach....  A vintage destination wedding!  Silver, Pearls, and Seashells...

White or Wheat... furniture?

Hubby and Big Brother went on a camping trip this weekend.  I did their shopping for them, and Hubby had one simple request, "Honey, do you mind buying us just plain ol' white bread? I like the healthy whole grain bread you usually buy, but for this trip, white bread would be awesome." My All American Hubby...teaching his All American Son about being a Man... camping in the woods.... eating white bread!

Ok, so, how am I going to tie this back to Booth 58?  Furniture.... Yep!  I hope I haven't lost you  yet...

  You might have noticed that we have a lot of white furniture.  We bring in stained wood and different painted pieces sometimes...Right now, we have a beautiful table that has a gorgeous finish on it... just too pretty to slap white paint on. 

Other vendors sell lots of gorgeous furniture.... painted, stained, refinished.... For some reason, we mostly sell white furniture.

 It is kind of like the white bread  vs whole grain bread.  We have tried to be "that healthy mom" with the whole grain bread.... Somehow we end up back with the good ol' white bread.

 And like "good ol' mom", we like to have the kids' favorite on hand.

Here comes the bride

We've been meeting lots of young brides in ACM over the past year... all coming in looking for special one-of-a-kind pieces for their weddings... Mom helped several sweet girls this past weekend as they picked out things for their receptions.  One bought a typewriter, another couple bought old boxes and a chalkboard, and another mason jars.  Mom sold her "Oh Happy Day" banner to another blushing bride. 
All this talk of vintage weddings sent me out looking to see more about this trend... Here are a few of the things I found:
