Thanksgiving Always

I love Thanksgiving... I love the everything that leads up to Thanksgiving...  November is bliss!

The retail world doesn't embrace Thanksgiving quite like I wish it did.  The ceramic turkeys, fall foliage, and "Give Thanks" are mostly gone from shelves now making room for Santa, poinsettias, and "Be Merry."

I want to make sure our day-in-and-day-out lives are decorated with Thanksgiving.  Not the kind of décor that you can pick up at Target... But the decorations that come from our mouths and are seen on our faces...

"Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."  Ephesians 5:20

 

Naturally Fall

Natural elements are always the perfect fall decorations.

 Pinecones, wheat bunches, bright leaves, antlers, and seed pods are a few we have added to Booth 58.  What can you add to your home this season to say "Welcome Fall?"

The Night Before Thanksgiving

It is the Night Before Thanksgiving... and we are getting ready for the big celebration!

As visions of turkey legs dance in our heads, we send our biggest
"Gobble, Gobble, Gobble" and "Happy Thanksgiving" to all of you Junk Lovin' Friends.

Leftovers anyone?

 The turkey is still frozen in the fridge, but I am already salivating thinking about it.  Anyone else's mouth watering thinking about eatin' some good food this week?

How many times can you eat leftover Thanksgiving dinner?  One, Two, Three times? 

I've heard two different takes on leftovers recently... "Leftovers are the best part.".... and..."No thank you...once is more than enough for me."

 

By Friday or Saturday afternoon, will you be ready to taste something new?

Home for the Holidays -A McKinney Christmas is the place to be....

And new tastes of the season are just part of the fun! 

 

Make plans Friday or Saturday to come up to McKinney ... and plan to stop by Antique Company Mall while you are up.  Booth 58 is filled to the brim!

We snagged these two old McKinney street signs on our most recent junkin' trip.  They will be the perfect Christmas gift this year for someone who calls McKinney home!

We tried.

We tried real hard to not mix our Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas displays.

 No orange and red and green ....

Orange got moved to the front window... Just in time for Scare on the Square on Halloween.  
(side note: Make plans to come up to McKinney that afternoon.... fun times!)

Thanksgiving got moved behind the window.... Just in time for shoppers thinking about their dinner table décor.

And, Christmas made its debut in our back section .... Just in time for what will soon hit the retail world ... "the holidays"  or what we like to call "crazy."

No orange and red and green has been intentionally mixed. We know things get moved around ...kind folks try to help out.  So we fully expect to find a big ol' orange pumpkin sitting under our red and green Christmas tree any day now... But until then, we tried.

Monday at the Mall

It's Monday here at the Mall.... Thought I would give you a little peek of our Thanksgiving display today... 

 Our B58 Banners continue to fly off of our chippy Booth 58 shelves.  Each banner is handmade by Mrs. 58 and myself.  We package each banner separately in cellophane bags topped off with a cardstock label. 

We've been selling lots of Give Thanks banners... burlap and tag too. 

It's almost Turkey Time!

Now that we are in full swing of October, I guess I should post some Booth 58 Happenings!  Sorry, loyal followers.... Blogging, once again took a "back seat" to life, as we have been busy with lots of fall fun.  Fall is my absolute favorite!!! 

We've went on a big junkin' trip since I last posted.... Make sure you stop by to see what new treasures have "fallen" into our hands!

The 32nd year of this free event begins Friday, Nov. 23 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 25. Historic Downtown McKinney will transform into a winter wonderland of holiday shopping, entertainment, activities and food. Dickens of a Christmas is free and open to the public. Throughout the weekend, visitors to Historic Downtown McKinney can enjoy strolling carolers, visits with Santa, live entertainment, carriage rides, children’s activities, holiday shopping and dining at the more than 100 shops and restaurants downtown.



Monday at the Mall

There's a lot going on at the Antique Company Mall... and especially our Booth 58!  We've actually committed some of my own pet peeves... I get bugged when I see pumpkins out with Christmas decorations in front of someone's house.  Does that annoy you too?  Mom agrees with me.  Come on, folks!  Put away the pumpkins once December is here....okay?

In my own home, I am fully embracing October and Fall.  Hubby pulled down my tubs and tubs and tubs of fall goodies recently.  The pumpkins will be welcome for a while here!  BUT we're also busy making more handmade Christmas things for Booth 58.....cause retail world doesn't stop for Fall very long.  We sold a lot of Christmas items on Saturday... already!

We've Been Junkin'

This sight either causes someone to cringe... or be super excited....Endless rows of unidentified junk!  My sweet hubby would break into a cold sweat if he was with me for a buying trip like this one.  But not Mr. and Mrs. 58 - my junkin' buddies... They are always up for the adventure. 

 Last week we headed out in search of some good "junk" and boy did we find some!

 Here are some of the new old things we have added to Booth 58 from our most recent "junkin trip."

We are hoping that last week was our last high temperature buying trip for the year.... Maybe our next time out we will have to have a little jacket!   Nice thought... right? 

Monday at the Mall

Happy Monday!  It is a happy Monday around here.... with a little bit of fall in the air on this first day of October... we are all happy!

 Mom and Dad worked Antique Company Mall this Saturday. I was able to join them for a few hours also. With lots of rain, we had lots of customers come in off the streets from Oktoberfest. The rain was nice, but not the best for Downtown McKinney's big event. I think everyone made the most of it anyway.
