Monday at the Mall

Lots of changes at Antique Company Mall on this Monday at the Mall:

Nancy of Ella Elaine has moved -or rather- "stretched" - again.  She and Diane did some switching of spaces.  Ella Elaine now welcomes ACM guests at the front window.   Great first impression.

AND ACM has had a paint job inside.  The red and green is gone.... now a crisp black and white greets you all.  What a difference.... So fresh and bright!

You curious?  Come in and see for yourself.

Too perfect

We celebrated Sister's 4th birthday with a ballerina party this weekend.... including a real ballerina... tiny tutus... and sweet little friends. An ol' fashioned homemade birthday party.  So fun to have a girl!

Made a long list and I checked things off for weeks:  Cupcakes -check, pink paper goods - check, decorations -check, games -check, favors-check...

But this wasn't on my list...
I couldn't have even thought this cutie up....While out treasure hunting last weekend, look at what Mom picked up.   Perfect for Sister's party, but it will be so sweet in her room afterwards... to hold jewelry or special trinkets.

Every now and then you run across something like this ... at just the right time... for just the right occassion... for just the right someone... and you say, "This is too perfect!"

Monday at the Mall

Monday at the Mall today .... Summertime brings out the kid in all of us.. right?

I noticed a "playful" trend lately at Antique Company Mall.... Lots of cool toys sitting around:

There's never  a shortage of fun at ACM in Downtown McKinney.  Plus we have great a/c!  Come spend a couple of "cool" hours with us soon.

Show and Tell

Ok... I'm gonna brag a bit and show and tell about some of the things we have been up to:
Mrs. 58 has been making these little - simple- banners... Simple is the key here.  just a word on plain tags... and they have been popular.  Customers like simple.

I've made several of these chalkboard tables/desks.  This one is a vintage fold-up style desk.  Another simple idea... a place for the kids to draw or a spot to leave your to-do list.
And our biggest seller right now:  Mr. 58's chicken wire frames. I have one in my kitchen that I clip the kids' latest artwork on.

Monday at the Mall

Sorry for no Monday at the Mall last week... I was spending Monday on the Road... coming home from visiting grandparents at the lake.

Today... we will look at our "Uncommon Neighbor...." - Nancy Schwalls of Uncommon Goods.  She just extended her booth and it looks great!  Remember when I told you we had serious booth envy... we still do!
Nancy's collection is one of the first that you will see as you enter ACM.  And a great intro it is!
I love Nancy's slogan ... "Rusty... crusty...and dusty collector".... funny!  All cool stuff.  And her arrangement of things is so unique.  She definitely thinks out of the box with her staging.

See Booth 58 on the other side of her booth?  We share a wall along the length of our whole booth.  She is a great neighbor to have.  Come in and see Nancy's new space soon.

What's new?

Mom did a serious shake up this week.  She managed to create a new fresh look with alot of old junk.

Kind of have a travel theme going in the front half of Booth 58.

We also fit a quick junkin' trip into the weekend.  Found some fun new smalls to add to the mix.

Plan a trip up the road to McKinney... Come see what other surprises we have waiting just for you!

Sense of Humor

Did some junnkin' last week.  We got an early start, but still didn't beat the heat.  Oh well, that comes with the territory, I guess.  The "cool front" is coming tomorrow... 100 instead of 104 like today.  Sense of humor is important on days like today in Texas!

Speaking of sense of humor....Caught up with Rick and Deana for a bit while we fluffed on Wednesday. We compared junkin' locations for the following morning... They were going west. We were going east.....

"Rick , you goin' west cause it's gonna be cool over there, right?"

"Oh, yea. Haven't you heard - 60 degrees cooler... I'm gonna take a little sweater."

See, sense of humor is important in this business!

Instead of beating the heat today, we pretended...

Lots of our  finds this trip will have to wait until the cooler months... wishing we could put them in Booth 58 now... but they don't quite go with the summer theme we have going.

Monday at the Mall

Congrats to our Award Winning Ella Elaine!  Nancy received honors at Dallas Market Center this month by receiving the Best Booth Display in Vintage Home Section.

picture from Nancy's blog at
You can't help be notice her booth--- it pulls you in right when you enter Antique Company Mall.  She is so creative and an out of the box thinker.  I'm always amazed are her stuff and constantly saying, "What will Nancy come up with next?"  She deserves that great honor.  ACM is proud of her!

July 4th plans yet?  How about an old fashioned hometown parade on McKinney Square - 10 am. Always fun!  Then afterwards there will be sidewalk sales throughout the downtown.
