At Home with Booth 58 - Issue 1

As we welcome you into our homes with this series At Home with Booth 58 it seems appropriate to reintroduce ourselves.....

We are Peggy and John and Elizabeth...
Peggy and John are "Mom and Dad" aka "Mrs. and Mr. 58" and they live in Central Texas most of the time...when they aren't in McKinney at the Antique Company Mall.
I am Elizabeth - "the Daughter".... the one who does the posting here.  I live in Fairview (just 8 minutes away from Downtown McKinney) with Hubby (Sean) and three little ones (Big Brother, Sister, and Little Mr. 58).

We've been at this Booth 58 gig for almost 5 years now...and still lovin' it.  So many blessings have come out of this little "whim" .... amazing people and places and stuff!

So, speaking of stuff.... onto the "meat" of our first issue...
Architectural Pieces

Does the phrase architectural pieces make you think of  Greek columns and ornate statutes?  Remember, we are JUNK dealers... so think more along the lines of crusty old doors, windows, and ladders.

My home has tall ceilings in the main living areas... much like many of the two story homes here in the Metroplex.  Tall ceilings need tall stuff.  Instead of going with large wall art, I  used vintage architectural pieces ... shutters, ladders, stair railings, and decorative corner pieces.  All of these add a nice texture and they can be great conversation starters too... "What is behind those doors?" and "Did you forget to put your ladder away?"

We try to keep a stash of shutters, doors, and ladders in the booth.  Right now, we have several white shutters and black screen doors.

In our next issue of At Home with Booth 58, I promise to highlight some of Mom and Dad's cozy house.
