We think Downtown McKinney helps make this city even better! Here are a few events going on in the coming months that you don't want to miss. I copied this info from the McKinney website. Mark your calendars.
Visit Beth's blog at On the Square to find out about what else is going on around the square.
Oktoberfest - Sept 28-29th
McKinney meets Bavaria on September 28 - 29, 2012! Drawing on the colorful tradition that began in Munich, Germany in 1810, the McKinney Oktoberfest will represent many things to many people. We will celebrate our diversity with a cultural event that reflects the many contributions of German immigrants who settled in Texas. We will enjoy a fun, family-friendly event that will offer authentic German music, food and drink, traditional costumes, dancing, children's activities and much more.
Antique Company Mall will join in on the German fun by hosting an antique faire in the front of our building... lots of vendors will be set up outside. Last year was great... Come see what is out there this time.
Scare on the Square - October 31st
McKinney's annual Scare on the Square has grown to hundreds of trick-or-treaters enjoying hayrides, treats and a safe, secure family fun Halloween event. Historic Downtown is closed off for trick-or-treaters to cross the street safely, going shop to shop for goodies. Bring your little gobblins and join us for Scare on the Square!
Dickens of a Christmas - 32nd Annual
Thanksgiving Weekend
Friday, November 23- Sunday, November 25
Downtown McKinney’s premier festival, the 32nd annual Dickens of a Christmas. The event has an old fashioned, Victorian Christmas atmosphere with horse-drawn carriages, traveling carolers, visits with Santa Claus, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and activities for all ages; plus a chance to finish all that holiday shopping in one place with over 100 boutiques, art galleries, bookstores, and apparel, gift and antique shops.
